Dr. Grace (Sarah Grace)

SARAH GRACE BRANCH I DR. GRACE

Hi, I’m Sarah Grace, best known as “Dr. Grace.” I often say my life is my thesis: I am living proof of what God’s grace can do. I am an author, speaker, television host and producer, advisor, non-clinical Christian counselor, and chaplain.

For many years, “Dr. Grace” was a nickname given to me by others. It was later formally recognized in honor of the transformation I have experienced—from being a high school dropout to receiving three honorary doctorate nominations. After leaving high school, I earned my GED while pregnant with my first child at a school for unwed mothers located in the basement of St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Everything I have accomplished has been achieved through divine guidance, supernatural grace, perseverance, and resilience.

My journey began with significant early-life challenges that caused me to question my value and lose hope for the future. I began drawing my identity from my struggles, which led to self-destructive behaviors and situations that placed me in danger, eventually resulting in my decision to leave high school. Not long after, an unwed pregnancy became a turning point that forced me to find a reason to live beyond myself. As much as I wanted that pregnancy to mark a new beginning, the lingering threat of my former life catching up with me brought me to my knees in a desperate prayer: “God, if You’re real, show me who You are, and I will serve You for the rest of my life.”

That prayer was answered through an encounter with God that ignited a lifelong journey of transformation. The week I gave my life to Christ, I married my child’s father. As I stepped into my faith, I began sharing my story in storefront churches, on street corners, and anywhere I was invited, eventually ministering in halfway houses, homeless shelters, and rehabilitation centers.

Years into my journey with God and fulfilling His calling, I went through a divorce and found myself raising seven children on my own. During that season, I continued speaking and sharing my story, and teaching principles I learned in my journey while navigating significant social, financial, physical, and mental health challenges.

It was during this period that people who observed my willingness to share what I was going through while demonstrating continued commitment to my calling despite my challenges began reaching out to me personally for guidance. What started organically—simply listening, encouraging, and walking alongside others—grew into a trusted role as an advisor and non-clinical Christian counselor for those seeking spiritual awakening, emotional healing, and transformation from a spiritual and biblical lens.

Over time, my story began to reach broader audiences. I became an author, began speaking regularly, and expanded into television and other forms of digital and print media. My work has been featured in numerous book compilations, independent magazines, and television platforms, including TBN and local ABC and FOX affiliates. I have since produced several original television programs, most recently The Dr. Grace Show, which reaches tens of thousands of viewers in Middle Tennessee and countless more through online platforms. In more recent years, I have also began to share my love for creating music through creating my own instrumental music and publishing original songs on the internet brought to life by modern technology and the use of a digitally created voice to sing them for me.

While much of my work takes place outside the four walls of the traditional church, I fully credit God’s grace and supernatural power for all I have accomplished. At the same time, I value accountability and the discipline of study. In keeping with the biblical mandate to “study to show yourself approved” (2 Timothy 2:15), my work is supported by more than two decades of mentorship, training, coursework, certifications, and ordination.

I am licensed and ordained as an Elder and officiant and am a certified chaplain through multiple independent, non-denominational ministries. My work is grounded in Scripture, informed by lived experience, and supported by formal study in theology, ministry, and psychology, along with certifications in coaching, mental health support, advocacy, and chaplaincy. I have received three honorary doctorate nominations in Christian Humane Letters, Divinity, and Professional Leadership.

I was born in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, spent much of my early life in Baltimore, Maryland—which I consider my hometown—and currently live in Nashville, Tennessee, where I attend church, produce my television show, and serve as a chaplain and advisor throughout Middle Tennessee.
